In this workshop David explains how to prepare your file directories and slides for a Pictures to EXE show or AV (Audio Visual).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommendations for new users
If you have a way that works for you then move on and look at the Galleries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.For a simple show using only one format of slide<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

a.Decide on the format<\/p>\n\n\n\n

b.Create a project sub directory<\/p>\n\n\n\n

c.Create sound and pictures directories<\/p>\n\n\n\n

d.Select candidate pictures using Bridge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

e. Export to your new pictures directory using Image processor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My projector, laptop and the club projector 1280 x 1024 with JPG quality 8 works OK for me. But! Note that 1400 x 1024 is becoming the de facto standard in higher competitions
If you don\u2019t shrink the pictures the computer has a lot of work to do and you risk losing the synchronisation between pictures and sound<\/p>\n\n\n\n

f.Adjust pictures as required<\/p>\n\n\n\n

g.Fill any unused part of your chosen format with black<\/p>\n\n\n\n

h.Sharpen if you wish<\/p>\n\n\n\n

i.Create show<\/p>\n\n\n\n

j.Enjoy results<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.If you want to include Vertical and Horizontal versions in your show<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Things can get a bit more complicated because of the way P2E handles the screen by default<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a.If your chosen format fills the selected screen then the method above works<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If not you have two methods<\/p>\n\n\n\n

b.Increasing the canvas size and adding black top and bottom will work (see the workshop on preparing DPIs) or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

c.Use the objects and animation tool in P2E<\/p>\n\n\n\n

d.When you have learnt this you can move on to pan and zoom etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my standard format slides this works<\/p>\n\n\n\n

e.Select the vertical slide in the time line<\/p>\n\n\n\n

f.Click on Objects and Animation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

g.Select the Animation tab<\/p>\n\n\n\n

h.Click in the zoom tab and type in the box so you get 90.7%<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjust the value to suit your show<\/p>\n\n\n\n

i.Repeat for the other vertical slides<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.General settings for P2E<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For the demonstration show the following settings were used from the Project options tab<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that I don\u2019t use the Comments facility for \u2018normal\u2019 AV<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that I would usually only use the \u2018Fade in\/Fade out effect and set the duration to suit the individual change using the \u2018Customize Slide\u2019 tab<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t change any of the defaults on the \u2018More\u2019 tab<\/p>\n\n\n\n
